Network Error when connection is active

Describe the bug When I open the app, sometimes I get the Network Error "Couldn't check for updates error" but I can definelty wait and the app would launch normaly.

To Reproduce Open the app (latest version) Wait 2 seconds

Expected behavior I expected the app to launch without a Network error popup (which display again if I close the popup)

I have the same issue. Just wait about 2-3 minutes on the error screen and it will load.

version.php seems to no longer exist

I have the same exact issue right when I first start VHBB up. After I click it off, I can use it & download homebrew just fine; I have a working wifi connection [which I’ve tested to be sure.] Never had this issue before recently.

EDIT: I see in the comments people have found that it’s the link which is not online. Is there a fix? I would think if the problem is as simple as the download not being there, we can just substitute a new location.

It would require a new update with a new update URL embedded

I remember I initially designed this feature to check the GitHub releases for this project for any updates. That's certainly still an option. PRs are welcome!
