[GOWS] - Youtube Link Preview

I am using the latest version of WAHA - GOWS (2025.9.1 PLUS)

The link preview for youtube urls are not working. It is working good for other urls

        'linkPreview' => true,
        "linkPreviewHighQuality" => true

Here is the screenshot of msg in my whatsapp.

Please guide.

I even tried the youtu.be URLs. I see that you mentioned it in the 2025.7 release notes.

youtube is very protective against bots and probably doesn't give the full preview You can generate your own preview and send it using https://waha.devlike.pro/docs/how-to/send-messages/#send-link-custom-preview

we'll double check the automatic preview generation soon to see if there's anything we can do 🤞

I heard that there is an advertising protocol that can be defined as an advertising message to handle this link display issue.

I urgently need this feature because many devices do not display the link details. It turns into a regular message, which is very annoying for me.

I don't think we're going to focus on YouTube and anything else related right now; dealing with that is another matter altogether :(

It turns into a regular message

1. Is it a new contact, like you sent the first mesage?
2. What device/os/app do they use?
3. Is it DM or groups or channels?

link custom preview with custom data should work, let's check it out.
