About the icon

AWK (awk) is a domain-specific language designed for text processing and typically used as a data extraction and reporting tool. Like sed and grep, it is a filter, and is a standard feature of most Unix-like operating systems.

The logo stems from the book The AWK programming language which is written by the authors of the AWK language.

Since I can't find any other logo's for AWK, and since the wikipedia page uses this icon on both the book and the language, I'm going to assume this is the one we should use.
