TRIM Export Video Error

Open gitcodeerrors opened this issue 1 year ago • 3 comments

I use the https://f-droid.org/packages/io.github.devhyper.openvideoeditor/ version on Android 14 and always if I use TRIM to cut a video and wants to export it this error occurs Error androidx.media3.transformer.ExportException: Unexpected runtime error

The exported video is always 0 Byte.

Same for me, except it processes a few % of the video before the error occurs

I was trying to trim a part of a YouTube video downloaded from Grayjay and I always end up with a 0 byte file that can't be played as well. However, the editor closes as soon as I start the export and I don't see any error message, so I'm not sure if it's the same bug.

Dittos to @PhilC813. I've used the app to export a duplicate copy of an unedited video, but after trimming or cropping, export is very fast but always 0 bytes. I don't see an error message. I'm running 1.1.3 from F-Droid on a Samsung Tab A 8 with Android 8.

The first time this happened, I went to Settings > Apps; it did not have Storage permission; I was able to add it but this made no difference.

Edit: Sorry, it's working now. Perhaps it took enabling the permission plus cold restart. Still shows room for improvement so as not to baffle new users, such as better failure messaging. I do confirm exported files lack a filetype, as reported in #98. Also, on old devices like mine, it's possible by manually seeking the desired frame to overload and crash the app.
