Video zoomed in very much

For a week or so, the video sent by the camera is very much zoomed in, only displaying a small section of the original image (approx. 1/5th of its length and height)

phone: Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, computer: Ubuntu 20.04.5, using WiFi connection

tried reinstalling it on both devices but to no avail
