v3.0.0 Breaking API Change: GitProcess -> exec

Dependabot PR triggered runs trying to use the new version failed. TS compile and eslint both have problems.

Things that could be handled better:

  • dependabot does not provide info on this breaking change.
  • the README.md was not updated for the interface change.
  • the new version is on npm but not here?

Will update README if there is a clear path to updating the v3.0.0 version.
