This came up searching for the same issue with another project, but your suggestion is correct @sundowndev. `/usr/bin` does exist, but Apple considers it a system folder and blocks additions....

We found a way around this, by adding our dependency to tox.ini. By adding supportpackage there, --force-dep is finally being acknowledged. When it is in setup.cfg, it seems to follow...

Looks like we're supposed to know that hello needs the @user/channel specified and be: `hello/0.1@user/testing` This is not clear, especially when looking at boost and poco as our only examples....
