Fortnite: Missing or broken skin elements when launched via Legendary

Platform Operating System: Windows 11 Legendary Version: 0.20.34 (codename Direct Intervention) Game Version: Fortnite (latest available version)

Expected Behavior Skins and cosmetic presets should be downloaded and rendered completely during gameplay, including dynamic assets.

Current Behavior Some cosmetic skins or presets are broken or incomplete. Fortnite shows the following error during gameplay:

Item could not be downloaded. Please try again later.
Error 20469285-10

This results in missing textures, invisible components, or unrendered skins.

Steps to Reproduce Launch Fortnite via Legendary on Windows 11 Go to locker and move around elements, a lot are missing or presenting error. Observe missing elements and error pop-up

Additional Information Issue persists after verifying and updating the game via legendary verify fortnite Problem is not observed when launching via the official Epic Games Launcher (to be confirmed)

I'm also on Windows 11 and I've had a bunch of gliders specifically missing with the same error code 20469285-10. This started for me last season and has continued into the current season update.

Reportedly, installing the game with the flag -disable-patching can fix this, but I've had no such luck and ended up going back to EGS. Fortnite is a weird one.

Same problem here. Tried --disable-patching but the problem persisted.

More info:

• Install game through Epic, launch through Legendary -> Runs fine
• As soon as there is an update, it brokes again and you have to update it using Epic.

I was pulling my hair trying to figure out why this was happening. This is still happening, here is heroic's issue on their github for future reference as I've not seen it linked yet: https://github.com/Heroic-Games-Launcher/HeroicGamesLauncher/issues/4789

I am having the same issue, really hoping I can find some sort of work around. Such an odd bug.

It takes an hour tops to download fortnite through Legendary. But every time I use epic's launcher, it takes 6-8 hours to download, and 4+ hours per update. so switching back is just not an option for me.

With the latest update Fortnite is now unplayable as all skin assets fail to load
