Adding a .bst file for bibliography styling

Hi!

Is there a way to integrate a .bst file for styling the bibliography? it should be something like this:

\bibliographystyle{stylename}
\bibliography{bibfile}

But there is tons of error when attempting to do that... has anyone done it before?
