1000m deep hole which does not exist

Sorry if this is wrong here, but i found no error in the openstreetmap data. Perhaps it is a error in the topo-data?

Probably an error in the DEM used to generate the contours and shading, Cyclemap shows the same issue.

But maybe you've found one of Jules Verne's volcanic tubes to the Center of the Earth ;-)

OsmAnd doesn't seem to have this problem.

Iceland also seems to have some 3000m high needlelike mountains in the middle of flat terrain.

This is a rather big problem, because i can't trust any contours if there are such big errors.

I asked the same question on German Wikipedia Helpdesk and was told the issue is caused by data errors from Shuttle Radar Topography Mission.
So this is not a OpenTopoMap software issue and can be closed here.
