WinGet 1.8 has been released with better support for "side-by-side" packages.
If you wish to have both versions installed you can use the "--force" option to install the other version as a "side-by-side" installation.
The latest localization patches were included in WinGet 1.8. I'm going to go ahead and close this PR.

We now have better support for side-by-side installation. You should be able to uninstall individual versions of packages, and the upgrade flow should work as well using WinGet 1.8.
Can anyone confirm this has been fixed in the latest version of Microsoft.WinGet.Client? I believe this issue has been resolved.
If anyone is still having this problem, could you try to change the "downloader" to "wininet" in `winget settings` and confirm if the behavior is different?
