On an enemy minion does no damage. To fix move the condition to just the friendly minion part.

It isn't obvious to me what to change to the JSON, since it looks right. Can you clarify what you mean by, "move the condition to just the friendly minion part?"

I mean at the moment the condition is the creature a demon seems to apply to both parts maybe. It needs to only apply to the friendly minion part and not the enemy minion part. Admitedly I had a quick fiddle with it and cldn't actually make it work so I may be wrong anyway.

I couldn't reproduce this, it looks like Demonfire worked fine for all four combinations of targets.

oh thats odd I'm sure something went wrong but I guess its possible I missed something i'll yell if I see it again.
