Same issue, was thinking this would be a good starting point for Sawtooth apps, was wrong can't even build. Is this a Windows compatibility issue?

I have the same issue and believe it's windows related -- it runs fine in the linux subsystem of Windows

I don't have a windows machine to test this myself. If anyone is able to work out a fix and submit a PR, I'll take a look.
