Incredible security concept

this can be turned on in the settings.

Shortcut changes the name from "Amarok" to Speedometer.

removes the application from the desktop and all other places. The application can only be launched via shortcut.

When opening the shortcut "Speedometer" there will be a black screen with the word "error" in the middle. if you press long at the top left, you will need to enter the password. If you enter the correct one, the application will open.

When you try to enable this option in the settings Amarok should tell you what happens if you click yes after reading the information

end of concept

I think it will be difficult to do, but it will help the application a lot. No other app can hide itself and its files so well

I really like your app, and I will try to always offer new features and always look for bugs

Thanks for your constructive suggestions and support!

If you play around with Amarok-v0.6, you'll find it applies the exact concept to hide itself
This feature works perfectly well on Android 9. I implemented it by this. And when I updated to Android 10, it doesn't work anymore.

So I turned to using android.software.leanback (See this). However, that doesn't work on every Rom - e.x. EMUI, HarmonyOS. Moreover, due to the fact that the hidden state cannot be changed dynamically in code, sadly I found many careless users who skip the tutorial docs can not find the entry. And they just uninstall Amarok without giving it a try :disappointed:.

Personally I really enjoy this concept. And I'm looking forward to adding it back in a different build flavour - so there'll be two different versions, one support hiding from the launcher while the other does not.

This app only works as a shortcut, if you look at it you might understand how it works. It works even on android 12 (maybe higher)

(click on blue)

it might help you

There is nothing "Incredible" here, really. There is a workaround though: Use a custom launcher app, rename the shortcut in the app menu manually and change the icon aswell- magic. No games, just pure functionality. You can even hide the shortcut in most of the launchers- I'm using this feature, too.

Regarding the code access: The app "Photok" uses an interesting feature that hides the app completely, even from the task manager and one will only be able to start it via a code entered via dialer app.

I'm unable to provide a screenshot due to the app's security.

is an interesting idea, but it's a little silly to include a special launcher for this (difficult, long). Let the app itself do it (No extra effort required)

It's neither difficult, nor does it take long. Most Android users use alternative launchers anyway. I like the core of your concept, but the "game" around it looks too childish for me.

Most of the launchers don't support "miui" copies of the apps, so I won't be switching to them. Many more people use the default launcher, that's a fact

Plus, I would have to look up how to do it, and then do it

It's a long time (more than 10 minutes.) No one will do it for one application

If the application can do this instantly, it would be much better.

It looks like you don't want any other ways to copy or workaround your "incredible" idea. Which is just nonsense, but that's my opinion. Let the others / the dev decide whether it would make sense or not.

Okay. I just said how I see it. I'm not trying to protect her. Your ideas are good too, especially the photok, but the rest is too long for me
