Update for packages and other trickle down changes.

Thanks you so much in advance for taking time for this PR.

This PR is an attempt to update packages and changes to fix the - nom run compile.

With these changes the project works on both npm install and npm run webpack, I am opening this as draft for now, as I try and improve initial commit a little more.
