If you are planning on using the AC unit with Home Assistant, there is a native integration in HA

From what I understood, the AEH-W4A1 is much simpler to use, since it's just unencrypted communication between client and AC unit.

Edit: I assumed that your AC was using a AEH-W4A1 from the topic title, but if it only connects only through the ConnectLife app you might be in the situation described in #160, ie not currently compatible, unfortunately.

Edit 2: I had to replace an air conditioner at home, tried ordering the exact same unit as the one that broke, but the seller did a bait and switch and sent me the later model, which connects through the ConnectLife app. Was quite disappointed when I found out.

I tried taking out the wifi module (AEH-W4B1) from the old indoor unit and swapped it into the new one, and so far it's driving the new AC just fine. So, if you can't wait until someone finds a solution, you might try sourcing an older wifi module.

could you please describe how you did this? I have also 3 Models which only run with the connectlife app :-(

It's quite easy actually, you just lift the lid of the indoor unit and the wifi module is inside the lid, on the right (the one in the center is the display)

Follow the cable and disconnect it, and then carefully pop the wifi module out. Repeat in reverse with the compatible module, and then associate it with the app and you're good to go.

thanks! Did some research. Unfortunately I did not see delivery options to germany :-(

I am in italy and I bought my last wifi module from climaway.it - you might try and ask them if they ship to germany, perhaps pointing out that it would only be a small package, and it's not like they'd be shipping out a whole ac unit. The item itself is not easily found by browsing but if you type AEH-W4E1 in the search field it should come out. While you're there, if they agree to ship abroad, it might be a good idea to ask if it is in fact the exact model and not the newer one, just in case.

Single adapter was listed at 38 euro, and they also have a 5 pack at 190
