More descriptive error handling?

I recently changed my username ( BenWoodward => benwoodward ) but because I had not updated this in my ~/.gitconfig then the github create-from-local command wasn't able to push to the server. The error message was

=> error creating repository

Took me a while to figure out what was going on!

Needs 'repository already exists error'.
