Plugin Doesn't Appear to be Working
The extension is installed, and it appears active on my chrome tab, but it doesn't seem to be affecting the body of my emails. I tried updating and I tried reinstalling. Is anyone having similar issues? I love this extension and want to get it working again.
Hi Lexy,
We haven't had anyone else report this particular issue recently. There have been times in the past, though, where Google has updated Gmail in a way that broke the extension. They often roll these change out slowly, so you might be one of the early groups.
The first thing to check would be the Developer Console to see if there are any error messages:
- Open the console while on the Gmail page
- Reload the page
- Open a new compose window
- Type a short message that should trigger a warning, such as:
I'm just sorry.
- If there are any red output lines in the console, please save the output as a file by right clicking and choosing "Save As". Then attach the file to this issue and we'll take a look.
To help troubleshoot the problem, it would also be helpful to know:
- Are you on a Mac, a PC, chromebook, etc.?
- What version of the operating system is it running? (windows 10, Mac OS X 10.15.7, etc.)
- What version of Chrome are you running?
- What language is your computer set to use? (we once had an issue where the extension wouldn't work when people had Magyar or Turkish set as their default language)
- What language is your GMail set to use?
The answers to the first 3 questions can be found by typing chrome://version
into the address bar of Chrome.
Best Regards,
Steve
Hey Steve,
Thanks for the advice! When I checked the console I found that an ad blocker extension I use called Ghostery was preventing Just Not Sorry from running. Hopefully there's a way I can adjust the blocker's settings and run both at the same time.
