Automate window blinds

Its something I'm trying to work out using raspberry pi but haven't found a good way to twist the blinds handler.

Came here for this. I needz the blindz automation!

And it needs to be retrofit, not all-new blinds.

Came across this one also which seems relatively simple to recreate with a motor and pi etc

I thought the same thing. I'm surprised somebody hasn't come up with a good solution that isn't in pre-order. But, everything is always harder than it first appears. If you ever come up with a solution yourself or buy one, post back here so the rest of us can take a look.
