Feature Request: Bigger Rule Tables

Open c12hz opened this issue 3 years ago • 3 comments

Allowing bigger rule tables would be very helpul with making more complex level designs. I find the 7x7 max size very limiting, especially as I'm working on a game where the tile size is quite small in relation to the player. Increasing the max size would be very helpful.

I find for my personal uses a max size of 15x15 would cover all my needs, but really any increase from what it currently is would be very helpful for me :)

Hi, Unfortunately, larger rule tables mean a big impact on performances, as evaluation of larger grids will definitely kill the CPU, if done on large levels or projects. I could add support for 9x9, but I don't think going further would be reasonable. Maybe we could figure out what exactly are the needs here, to see if there is another solution?

Ahh makes sense, well 9x9 would still be very nice to have! I think for my personal use case the feature described in this issue would be much more important: https://github.com/deepnight/ldtk/issues/748

If there was some way to implement roughly something like that feature then 9x9 rule tables should be enough for me
