Arabic translation - multiple issues
- Arabic language is from right to left so all alignments should be adjusted accordingly
- ~~Missing translations, despite they have been translated in transifex~~
- ~~incorrect translations sync from transifex~~
FYI, I just updated the transifex sources, there are a couple of new strings to be translated.
Just switching the html from LTR to RTL breaks a lot of the app's design elements, so to support different text directions we'll need to rewrite quite a few of the components and views.
thx for the insight, I'll update the issue after reviewing the next release candidate to see if some of the mentioned issues above stand still. Also, I edited several translations in transifex today so, it might need a re-sync
issues found in rc5
- last letter in some words is incomplete
- ~~unknown symbols in some places~~
Those "symbols" mean the app wasn't able to render the text in the selected font.
Weirdly, on my windows VM I can clearly see the arabic text (the real text, without those "boxes") so maybe it's an OS thing? Could you check the list of installed fonts and see if there's one listed as "Source Sans Pro"? Maybe you have a version installed that doesn't have the corresponding glyphs.
you're absolutely right, it was a font issue from my side.
@Insaf01 @Abdulrahman4 this issue is quite old. Is there anything else to fix or can we close it?
Thank you, @xaur for the reminder. Currently, the text's right-to-left rendering still needs improvement, particularly when dealing with bidi (bidirectional) text.
