It would be useful for getting rid of temp variables while cleaning up a scratch.

I'm not a UI designer by any means, but even something like this would work:

mkst brought up that you all might not be able to do it directly using CodeMirror (https://codemirror.net/docs/ref/#search), but if you can get the whole text of the scratch then you should be able to do it manually.
