I'm just poking around here (admittedly the error messages aren't very helpful), but can someone try out https://github.com/imwints/btop/tree/issue-899? It tries to catch the error and resume without crashing.

With hyprland and the systemd you can use something like [localectl](https://www.man7.org/linux/man-pages/man1/localectl.1.html) (or [environment.d](https://www.man7.org/linux/man-pages/man5/environment.d.5.html)) to set your environment, so you don't have to deal with `.bashrc` or `.profile`.
