Ability to Pin Items to the Top in Gallery Folders

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. I often have certain photos & videos that I want quick access to. Scrolling every time or searching for them manually takes time and becomes frustrating when managing large galleries.

Describe the solution you'd like Add an option to Pin selected photos & videos, on the top in any Folder. Pinned items should always stay visible at the top, even after sorting by date or name. This would make it much faster to open frequently used or important media.

Describe alternatives you've considered I tried using "Favorites" or using tags, but that doesn't provide the same quick visibility or priority placement as pinning directly within folders.

Additional context After click and hold on any photo/video, A small pin icon (📌) on option menu or 3 dots would make it easy to toggle pin/unpin. Pinned items could have a subtle highlight or label to show their status. This feature would improve organization and accessibility in the app.

Add an option to Pin selected photos & videos, on the top in any Folder.

It's not clear to me whether you expect the pinned items to be pinned in a specific context (say, for a specific album) or whether a pinned item is always pinned.

For example, you open the Screenshots album, so you're in the Collection page with the matching album filter. You pin some screenshot images, so they are displayed at the top. Now, you tap on the album filter at the top of the page, to remove the filter. Are your pinned screenshots still pinned at the top? If not, I have more tricky scenarios for you!

@deckerst My idea is that pinning should be context-specific, not global.

If I pin a photo inside the Screenshots folder, it should stay pinned only when viewing that folder.

If I later view All Photos or a different album, those pinned items shouldn’t appear at the top there — they would appear in their normal chronological or sorted position.

This way, “Pin to Top” works as a local prioritization tool within each album/folder, helping users organize specific collections without affecting the overall gallery view.

However, a global pin option could also be nice as a future addition — maybe with a toggle like:

“Pin globally” or “Pin only in this album”.

Thanks❣️

I see, thanks for the explanation. Then I'd need to think of the UI/UX to specify the context (like what would be needed for #207). I don't want to make albums special compared to other filters, so it needs to be more flexible. For example, other users might use tags just like you use albums, and would pin items for a specific tag, or a combination of tags.
