Show File Type in the Viewer

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. I'd like to have an option (assuming it doesn't exist — I failed to find it if it does) to display the file type at the top of the viewer. Either by including the extension in the filename or showing a tag up there.

Describe the solution you'd like Image

Describe alternatives you've considered I assume the option, if it exists already, would be in here in the overlay: Image

You didn't miss anything. It's not an available option at the moment.

Could you please explain your use case for needing the file type in the overlay?

By the way, not what you asked but in case you don't know, the file type is readily available in the Info page below the viewer with a swipe.

Sorry for the delay. One use case is when using the convert option I would like to see more quickly which of two adjacent files (I often place the converted files into the same folder) is, say, the PNG and safe to delete. Another is when I don't really need to keep a DNG but this is a little less troublesome since it can be seen if I enable the thumbnail ribbon at the bottom.

I agree the partial swipe up is not a terrible solution but I guess I am that guy who always shows extensions in every program that lets me and that kind of thinking carries over to here.
