Audio crackling/popping when playing videos
Describe the bug Hey! I’ve noticed for quite some time that when I play videos in Aves, the audio sometimes cracks or pops. I didn’t report it earlier because… well, laziness 😅. It only happens in Aves—other apps work fine. I understand this might be very device-specific.
To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Open Aves.
- Play any video.
- Listen closely for audio crackling or popping.
Expected behavior Smooth audio without any crackling or popping sounds.

Additional Context
- This has been happening for a while, but only in Aves.
- I realize this might be very device-specific.
Thanks
Could you please try with mpv and tell me whether you have similar issues with it?
I tried it with mpv. No problems with it.
The error appears to be phone-specific. I just played the same video on my tablet via Aves -no issues.
Thanks for the feedback.
Eventually, to solve other audio issues (#1040), I should switch to a newer build of the mpv library used by Aves, and try a better audio engine (from OpenSL ES to AudioTrack). I'll revisit this issue with you then.

Do both of your devices use Lineage?
Do both of your devices use Lineage?
Yes, they do. Just my phone has these problems. I've captured a video of it. Here it is:

Thanks for the recording. It's indeed severe. Could you please share a sample video? Hopefully I can reproduce the issue with one of my devices.

Glad to be able to help.

Sure.

Sorry, I just read that. I already uploaded a sample video. Since I don't know if you noticed, I'm here to point it out. Best regards.
I meant a video that you play within the app, not the recording of the issue that you shared above. Any short video with which you experience the issue will do.
Sorry, I missed your reply again. I actually experience this issue with every video I play in Aves. But if you’d like, I can also share the exact video from the recording. Here it is...

I can reproduce the audio pops on my device. They do not always happen at the same time positions, but it's easy to reproduce (at least with your sample video).
Good news. As I said, this actually happens to me with every video, regardless of where I got it. But it's great that you were able to reproduce it. So it's probably not as individual as previously assumed.
