Facilitate playback of motion photos
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. When swiping through motion photos, Aves supports via a setting[^1] to either display always the main photo, or always the motion video. But when reviewing a (large) set of them, it would be extremely convenient to remain in the mode that the user selected last. For instance:
- when I have the main photo selected, and I select/swipe to the next photo, it should remain showing the main photo of that photo;
- when I then select the motion video, and I select/swipe to the next photo, it should remain showing the motion video of that photo.
This (optional) behavior would make reviewing motion photos much faster and more pleasing, as it avoids switching back and forth the mode at each photo.
Describe the solution you'd like Either:
- add another option "Remember motion photo display mode" or "Keep last motion photo display mode" (or similar) - but it would somehow clash with the existing setting[^1];
- revise the existing setting[^1] to a dropdown: "Motion photos display mode" > Always main photo / Autoplay motion / Last used

[^1]: Viewer > Auto play motion photos
Dear @deckerst, I realized there could be a better solution to the problem: simply play the motion video when long-pressing the photo (currently, this "action" isn't reserved for any particular function, so it could be utilized). This avoids manually switching between photo and motion photo mode, which requires up to four clicks when in full-screen mode (hidden overlay).[^1]
Compared to my original proposal, this solution is more practical for a user (play motion videos only on request), and perhaps also easier for you to implement 🤞. Still, you may want to make this optional in the settings; for instance by either
- revising the existing setting (see footnote in OP above) to a drop-down with the options "Never" / "Always" / "On long-press";
- adding another option Play motion photos on long-press".
[^1]: The four clicks: 1. click to reveal the overlay, 2. click thumbnail in the bottom left corner to switch, 3. click play, 4. click to hide overlay (to return back to full-screen).
