Add explanation describing relationship to DIDComm

Open jmandel opened this issue 3 years ago • 6 comments

It would be very helpful if the introduction to the spec could position this work relative to DIDComm. For a casual or naive reader such as myself, it is challenging to understand whether these specs are addressing distinct use cases or how they might interact.

100% agreed @jmandel . Many people have asked about the distinction including myself when I first read this spec, so you're not alone. It's been discussed a number of times but never formally documented.

@csuwildcat do you happen to have notes from when we discussed this a few months back? If not, would you mind writing up the distinction here? Or feel free to assign me to this issue and I can write something up

This is going to be addressed in the Companion Guide.

@moisesja just a heads up: Might make sense to bundle this into your PR.

Yeah, saw that. It makes sense to bundle them.

@mistermoe , last week on one of those office hours you had mentioned something about DWNs being somewhat a DIDComm+ in terms of transport functionality. Is there any documentation you could share regarding this?
