Unable to retrieve ga:clientId dimension, but can via rest api

Unable to retrieve data via core reporting api when using ga:clientId dimension. Error: KeyError: 'Cannot find ga:clientId among the available type.'

However, using the same query parameters and token, ga:clientId dimension is successfully retrieved via core reporting rest API.

What could go wrong? :(
