Black screen when greeter/ddlm is launched

I installed arch linux on as a virtual box instance. I've configured greeter/ddlm. I added the greeter user into the video group. And when I reboot, I get a black screen. I managed to get the error message. Here is, roughly, the error message I get:

It seems like your frame buffer is smaller than 1027x768
