Really sorry for the absolute late response. osync can run as non-root, but needs full write privileges on initiator/target dirs. Also, osync provides SUDO_EXEC parameter for more complicated setups.
So, basically you get a VSS error that says `not have sufficient backup privileges or is not an administrator` The same applies to restoration, you get `Access is denied` errors...
Indeed, scheduling a task on a computer requires administrative privileges. As the first error message suggests, use the windows-x64 compiled version if you run on a x64 platform, or else...
Thanks for reporting back. Those errors can be safely ignored, they are only cosmetic. The fix is already in master. I'll just finish some GUI work before letting the next...
New RC released including the fix.
I realized that my above diagnostic is a bit botched. So I added a rule forcing ICMP to use the offline marked gateway for one of my machines behind OPNSense....

Discovered an issue with qemu-ga, see https://github.com/opnsense/plugins/issues/4148 So this is now in standby mode.
Would this change also allow to detect windows reparse points which cannot be backed up ? (Sorry if this is out of scope of this issue).
