Can't input Chinese characters.

Open isaacstn opened this issue 2 years ago • 5 comments

I'm using Pixel 6 Pro with Android 14 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ with Android 13.

In both devices I cannot input Chinese characters (and Japanese either). I've turned on the "textarea for IME" option to no avail.

Is there a solution to the problem?

I can input both, also on Samsung Galaxy with Android 13. But I don't know the reason. I didn't do any special thing to make it work.

I am using Samsung Galaxy A52s with Android 13 and I cannot input Japanese characters with Samsung Keyboard (QWERTY layout). What keyboard are you using?

It was Gboard. But now it no longer works. I'm encountering a similar bug on Acode 1.9.0. Now, with Gboard, I cannot switch to a language/keyboard other than English or QWERTY. Meanwhile, I still can use Samsung Keyboard to input Chinese and Japanese characters as long as "Use textarea for IME" is turned off.

I have the same issue, Google input method cannot change to Chinese. I guess it's because the language switch button is somewhat intercepted by Acode and Acode doesn't support it and neither pass it to system.
