[Bug] App Crashing on adding file path

Open GR3YH4TT3R93 opened this issue 1 year ago • 4 comments

Upon a fresh install of Acode on my device, I am no longer prompted to give file permissions and when trying to add a folder, the app crashes after selecting folder and before naming.

How to reproduce:

  1. clear data and cache, cancel access permission for any folders (eg termux)
  2. uninstall acode
  3. install latest acode from f-droid
  4. open acode
  5. select open folder
  6. tap +
  7. select folder
  8. choose a folder and tap use this folder
  9. app crashes

Hello ! I'm encountering the same issue, with version 1.8.7 from the play store. Using Android 14 (Samsung OneUi)

Turns out it mught be a different root cause however. I managed to reproduce differently :

  • Install Acode
  • Do not launch it
  • Open a file with Acode
  • Try to "save as"
  • Notice that there is no path, not even the "Select a document" entry.
  • Try to add a path. Notice that it fails after the android prompt to allow the selected path.
  • The app is now stuck in a state where it will crash whenever adding a path (after selecting from Android), until you reinstall/clear its data.

This does not seem to happen the first app open (right after installing) is done by opening the app from the home screen
