2.14.1.866 update

Open eeungga opened this issue 2 years ago • 13 comments

Hello, Unfortunately, I have also did not turn off auto-update. Only now do I see how important that was. Is it possible to get the patch updated to 2.14.1.866 ? or is there a "magic script" that can roll back the update to the previous version?

Your patch is the only thing that keeps the remarkable 2 useful! Please help!

you can switch to the old version (there is a script in remarkable-update repo) but i'll try to find the time in the next couple of days

Thank you so much! Sorry I'm script illiterate, But I'll try to figure out what you just said in the mean time.

Thanks again!

Hello @eeungga @ddvk I have a Roll Back step by step tuto on a Reddit post, pasting it here maybe it helps: https://www.reddit.com/r/RemarkableTablet/comments/qftv1o/software_rollback_to_the_previous_version_only/

2.14.1.866 update might be fixing the problem with the disappearing notes. Hopefully... Currently, I've postponed the update to 2.14.0.861 to avoid possible issues :/

thank you all! the roll back script worked perfectly! however, for those who are as bad as me about coding, I found that for windows the following command works: sh -c "$(wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ddvk/remarkable-update/main/switch.sh -O-)"

I have no idea what i typed, but it worked for me

That's the command you run on the remarkable no matter what OS your machine is.

Does the auto command for patch 2.14.1.866 work on the 2.14.0.861 instal ? I tried to instal it but nothing changed.., I'm still in 2.14.0.861. There must be something I didn't catch. Thanks for any help !

Hi! If I follow the previous instructions... will it also work togo back from 2.14.3.977 to 2.14.1.866? I just bought a Lamy pen and I want to install the ddvk hack. I already blocked the auto updates.

Thank you!

It should downgrade to the previous version so yes. In your case I am not sure because there was also a 2.14.3.958 in between. Not sure how Remarkable upgrades work in that case. It ts definitely worth to try, if it works then you will be beack on 1.866, if not then there should be no harm done

@ddvk

Hello! First: thank you for your work. Second: then do you think to launch the version for 2.14.3.977? Third: have you think to create program that allows open 2 windows at the same time? Half screen each, one on top of the other? That will be the best PD the best apps! Thank you again!!!
