Request: select page (layer)

Would love to be able to select a full page or layer rather than trying to loop the selection frame around the edges of the screen. I keep taking notes on PDFs and then wanting to move them to blank pages, but it's hard to select the whole page (as I tend to write all over the page and circle things, so that bits go off the edge of the screen. Once you leave the screen in selection mode, you lose all the area you've already started to encircle). I would love an option in the Select menu to select everything drawn on the page. Or an option in Layers to select everything on a layer.

Subissue: Even when I can select a very large area, sometimes the cut/copy tool selection icon is not in window and I have to shrink the selection before I can see and use it. This just caused me to lose notes that I shrank to cut/paste - the paste failed and I couldn't undo the cut either for some reason. Would love a hack to force the cut/copy action tool to be visible (appear inside the selection rather than outside of it). Is that possible?
