Add support of alignak (+ alignak_backend). With this, when install, it's possible to choose what monitoring system to use:

  • Shinken
  • Alignak

Item list to keep in plugin monitoring (= in GLPI DB)

  • Check
  • Component
  • Componentscatalog
  • Componentscatalog_Component
  • Componentscatalog_Host
  • Componentscatalog_rule
  • Contact_Item
  • Displayview
  • Hostaddress (not sure)
  • Servicenotificationtemplate

Item list to store in Alignak backend

  • Acknowledge
  • Command
  • Contact
  • Contacttemplate
  • Downtime
  • Eventhandler
  • Host
  • Host_Contact
  • Hostnotificationtemplate
  • Realm
  • Service
  • Serviceevent
  • Unavailability
  • Calendars => Timeperiod

Items not yet where define it

  • Businessrule
  • Businessrule_component
  • Businessrulegroup
  • Canvas
  • Hostconfig
  • Log
  • Servicedef

Please, what's the current status of alignak support ?

working on it, first finish the first version of Alignak (not long time to wait), and after finish version of plugin monitoring

@ddurieux, thanks for the quick response .. I'm trying to choose alignak, and this is the only missing item to make alignak perfect.

Thanks for all the efforts the project team have put in. Shame there had to be a fork, and you guys did not continue with shinken. But so far as I have seen, alignak is looking more stable in docs and directions. Keep up the great work.

I know, I'm one of Alignak leader ;) For the plugin monitoring, I think I drop soon the shinken support

@ddurieux, I like the idea of goodwill .. so, please leave the shinken support functional, without spending any additional time on it .. It's good for goodwill, especially considering your history with that project ..

On another note, how can I contribute to this project ? .. I have been sitting on the fence about contributing to an opensource project, and Alignak seems like a great one to get involved in. I am reasonably comfortable with Python, and I am working on improving my OO Python skills. I am also comfortable with OO-design principles (UML, etc) .. How best can I start getting involved .. documentation seems like a good place that may help me get more familiar with the codebase. Any suggestions?

The developer docs is helpful and I am readin through that ..

Thanks again for the quick responses ..
