Is there a reason this PR has been inactive for so long? Would really like this merged into integration then master so that Flask doesn't complain about an __init__.py missing in site-packages/flaskext every single time it starts up. It seems that there is no issue with how this would work, all it would cause is having to change flaskext.markdown to flask.ext.markdown.
