If you have updated the version of nodejs - have you rebuilt the i2c binary using npm rebuild ?

As several of the error message hint at - the process can't find python installed on your machine. This is often an indication that you don't have the necessary build...

I don't use that at all - may be better asking o their forum how to install the build tools.

The node seems to install (and run) cleanly for me on node16. So yes - need some more info if we are to try to diagnose what the issue is.
