I had some time off, but looking into this more actively now. Initial tests show promising results.
I have the same issue, I cannot cross compile because the "TARGET" shows the one from the host and not the one I set, just like in the example above....
Also https://github.com/dtolnay/cxx/issues/1357#issuecomment-2198881225 will not fix it because it will simply build for the wrong target...
