Describe the feature

I would like to be able to request cumulative metrics by granularities other than day. For example, if I request a cumulative metric monthly I would expect to see a row for each month, with the cumulative metric value for that given month.

Describe alternatives you've considered

This might be possible with some wrangling in my BI tool. Additionally, you could compute the rolling sum on the underlying model and make this work with non-additive dimensions.

Who will this benefit?

This feature helps make metricflow more expressive and simplifies computing cumulative metric for analytics engineers

Hi @Jstein77, do you have any timeline to share regarding development of this feature ? Cumulative metrics was decisive in our decision to move to the new semantic layer, but didn't realize we couldn't select the grain - so we're a bit stuck now! Many thanks!
