Precompiled binary?
Could precompiled binary be made available? Vala compiler is not available by default on many distributions. For instance, it's not in the default repository of Ubuntu.
It should be included in the Debian and Ubuntu repositories (although with the old name pdf-presenter-console).

The vala compiler is in the Ubuntu repositories. Older versions may have a too-old version of valac, but there's a PPA to help them out.
I said by default... I understand that PPA ia available. Anyway good to hear that pdf-presenter-console exists.
Yes, and valac is in the default repositories, as my first link shows. If your complaint is that it's not installed by default, well, none of the build chain is. If your complaint is that the installed version on your system is too old, then there's no guarantee that the binary would be compatible with your version of GTK, etc.
There are reasonable arguments to be made for distributing binaries, but the unavailability of valac isn't one of them.
Ok then. It would be great if you could please add notes on binary package availability on popular distro s on the readme file...^_^...I'm sure many would appreciate this.
@phoeagon: At least it's now on the main page. #61 #62
Hi,
I come back on this old request just to say : why not making a pdfpc PPA with the latest precompiled binaries ? The pdf-presenter-console in the ubuntu repos is quite old (in particular, it does not have any video playback ...)
At least for ubuntu/debian users it would be interesting. I see it also as an opportunity to get more users interested, and then probably new developers to get the development one step further :)
