Changing wallpaper not working on Manjaro Budgie

I tried either to install the package from AUR or to compile it from source with cargo. In both cases the program seems to work (it displays the correct output until "Done"), but nothing happens to the wallpaper.

@nicobonne what desktop enviroment are you using?

I use Budgie

I tested with Ubuntu Budgie 19.04 and it worked.

Maybe the problem is with the library the program uses (https://github.com/reujab/wallpaper.rs). Can you check to set a photograph with this shell command: gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.background picture-uri IMG_PATH?

No luck with this suggestion :(
