Include it in PostgreSQL, whose license is closest in similarity to the MIT license.
A permissive license like MIT or 2-clause BSD would go a long way toward adoption in places where Legal™ is a factor.

If that schema from the docs is OK to use, obviously with phony data, that'd be handy.

Another chime for the liberal licenses, of which MIT is the simplest. Licenses which aren't liberal can and do cause Conversations With Legal™ which can get and do get drawn...
I suspect it's `libgit2`'s APIs that are in play here. For example, there are ways to do range queries in it that just need to be surfaced to the FDW...
