The burnin disappers with Playback caching on in Maya 2020

Open satishgoda opened this issue 5 years ago • 4 comments

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Setup burnin
  2. Animate the camera
  3. Enable playback caching in Maya 2020 (I was testing in Maya 2020.2 specifically)
  4. Click play

The burn-in will disappear.

NOTE: The burn-in does not disappear if there is no animation on the camera.

Thank you, Satish.

Hello Satish,

Thank you for reporting this.

What operating system are you using? Windows?

I'll try to reproduce and get a fix.

Forgot to add the OS. I am Windows 10 and here is a picture of the issue as it happened.

Thanks @satishgoda for the screenshot.

I'll attempt re-produce the problem on my end.

I have also found this interesting link: https://around-the-corner.typepad.com/adn/2019/04/cached-playback-issues-and-their-workarounds.html

Since the internal node dcCameraInferno is written in Python (for maximum version compatibility), I expect it will not work well with cached playback by default and the plug-in might need to trigger "safe mode".

Hi David.

Thank you for the info. I will also conduct further tests. At the moment, I was testing it on my laptop running a mobile NVIDIA gpu.

Will keep you posted.

Thank you, Satish.
