Reconnect after WIFI access point is back automatically ?

Thanks for this work, wonderful project !

I have a question - not sure if someone has the same issue.

Sometimes our WIFI Access Point goes down - than comitup goes back into Hotspot Mode and can be configured !

  • But it seems to forget the old wifi password, so it has to entered again ?

  • Is there a way that comitup could check by itself, if the accesspoint is back ?

So, in theory comitup could go into Hotspot mode for 10 minutes and if nothing is done manual, it could try to reconnect with the old password and settings - if this is not successful it goes back into hotspot mode. Is this something that can be setup as a cronjob in system table ?

Best regards from Germany !

Carsten

It does a periodic check for a restored upstream, but only if you have two WiFi adapters, or you have one adapter and no one is connected to the local hotspot. Otherwise, people can get knocked off of the local AP with each check.

It should be remembering the password.

You could try restarting the comitup service to see if the password is actually being remembered (or check the connection file in /etc/NetworkManager/systems(?)).
