Wifi Force 2.5ghz or 5ghz

Is it possible to forcibly select a frequency (band) (2.5ghz or 5ghz).

I imagine so. It defaults to 2.5 for maximum compatibility when no country code is set.

What is the best way to change country code?

Do I need to modify the /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf?

It used to be based on an entry in /etc/defaults/crda. That appears to no longer be the case.
