cloudprint-service number of copies not available

Very strange bug. I installed through package manager on Ubuntu 18.04 Desktop. After figuring out how to get the config running under root to match the cloudprintd.service I am able to see the CUPS printers. I even get all the functionality for my copiers under the print dialog box under Advanced Settings. Strangely when I choose a printer shared with cloudprint the option to choose how many copies I print disappears. It has nothing to do with CUPS or the PPD afaik because it does not matter what PPD I choose and if I run the google-cloud-print-connector I get the option back. Any ideas on this?
