Support for wireless siren Device S00

Open Fabio72 opened this issue 2 years ago • 5 comments

I have a wireless siren with a Powermax Pro panel, connected in Powerlink mode. I can see "Devices: PGM,X01,X02,X08,S00" So I think S00 should be the siren. Is it possible to integrate its status (tamper and battery)?

Are keyfob battery low messages managed somehow?

Thanks, Fabio

Hi, The S00 is a siren yes, but the information you've seen is from the download of the EPROM and as far as I know there are no messages for it and no "active" state. However, I don't have one and so I have no way of knowing for certain or testing it.

If you are interested in helping look at this then you can set your Home Assistant log files to debug like here on the wiki https://github.com/davesmeghead/visonic/wiki#logger-settings Arm the alarm, then trigger the siren, then disarm and upload a log file to pastebin with a link here. I can then look at the messages and see if there's something in there that I don't yet decode Cheers D

Hi, thanks for the wonderful integration: I used to have a Powerlink, but this is way more useful.

In the pastebin there is the debug log of an alarm activation and an alarm trigger few hours later. The wireless siren was activated as well. Note that I'm using the Squawk option, so the wireless sirer sound on every activation.

The status of the panel is:

Hi, Sorry but I've been really busy with familly life and work this past week or so.

I've taken a long look through your log file and I can't spot anything that would provide a status for a siren. I thought that if you gave me a log file around when the siren was being used then it may provide an individual status message for it.

I do have a few observations though

  1. You have 3 "unknown" sensor types, please can you provide the make (I assume Visonic) and model (e.g. "Next K9-85") for your zones Z02 (Dining Room), Z03 (Living Room) and Z26 (Utility Room). According to the log file, Z02 is the same sensor as Z04 to Z11, is this correct? If you give me the make and model then I'll add them to the recognised sensors for the next software release. This will set the sensor type in Home Assistant correctly i.e. Motion, Magnet etc
  2. In the panel settings you have "Bypass" set to "Force Arm" and I've never seen this before, I didn't realise it could be done so I've learnt something new. When you arm the panel it automatically bypasses the sensors that are open and "not ready". In your log file the panel sends the integration a bypass message for each sensor. I currently don't do anything about these messages so I'll add a new function to recognise them and set the bypass flag in each sensor in Home Assistant (although the panel does send an overall update eventually in your log file). I could do this based on this panel data message
2022-05-03 16:55:46 DEBUG (MainThread) [custom_components.visonic.pyvisonic] [handle_msgtypeA7] System message Force Arm / Fob 01 alarmStatus None troubleStatus None
  1. I saw a new A5 format data packet. All the time that I've seen this data item it has been filled with zeros but you have an "01" in there. I have no idea what it is but it doesn't seem to be related to the siren status (based on where this is in the log file).

Hi, On Powerlink the wireless siren was simply shown as Wireless Siren. When the battery was low, a warning was shown. Maybe the low battery status frame is only used when necessary. Also the keyfob battery was shown on Powerlink when low.

I can try to raise a tamper alarm on the wireless siren, but I have to take out the long ladder and it will take some time. BTW the siren is MCS-730

  1. Z26 is MCT-100. Z02 and Z03 are really old Visonic sensors, identical to MCT-302

  2. The panel is configured to bypass open zones on force arm. Daytime I leave window shutters open when I leave home, so the magnetic sensor is bypassed and I only use the curtain PIR.

  3. the panel was attached to a Powerlink and configured to send notifications to Visonic servers. I don't know if I cleared all related settings when I removed the Powerlink. I'm using the Visonic dual serial board, connected to an serial/ip transceiver.

My log file contains 250 records, all related to 2006 and it does not get updated. The same happened with Powerlink: log file was not updated. By the way, it happened twice that Powerlink stopped answering to the network after 2/3 years of use and I had to change it. So I bought 3 powerlinks in total...

Hi, For the siren and keyfob battery status I do not process either of these at the moment as I do not know where the message data is located, the next time that I get a keyfob battery low I'll investigate (I might also ask in the main forum if anyone can send me a log file when it happens to them). You may be correct, the panel may only send the data when there's a problem.

For the wireless siren tamper alarm, if you do it and send me a log file then I'll take a look through.

For 1) I have added the 3 sensors, it will come through in the next software release For 2) Ah OK, HA should show that these are bypassed but it may take time to come through as I periodically request the bypass status from the panel. I have updated the code to make this quicker with Force Arm, this will also be in the next software relesee For 3) That should still be OK, the HA integration should still pick out what it needs. Maybe the A5 07 message here is related to the battery status of the keyfobs, I don't know yet.

The log file should wraparound and over-write the oldest entries, I'm not sure if there's a panel setting for this.

For the multiple powerlink failures, is your Ethernet noisy/spikey, do you get lots of lightning storms as that can destroy equipment. Or maybe you were just unlucky. Dave
