Thanks for working on this! Code makes sense for using local storage. Out of curiosity, why the same URL parsing functions added to Camunda .js files?

Sorry for this being still pending. I was planning to save also other settings at the same time, but life happened.

If I understood correctly, you refer to the built plugin files bundles. Each of them are independent and must be standalone and cannot share resources.
