Timing of episodes
@svigneau and I recently taught these lessons in the workshop 2019-02-04-boston
. Workshop website here: https://taylorreiter.github.io/2019-02-04-boston/
Our timing for the lessons is as follows:
01 Background and metadata: 10 min 02 Assessing Read Quality: 75 min (stopped before "Working with the FastQC text output" section) 03 Trimming and Filtering: 60 min (stopped before the for loop)
04 Variant Calling Workflow: 1 hr 05 Automating a Variant Calling Workflow: Skipped
@arredondo23 and I taught the lessons, website here: https://aschuerch.github.io/2019-04-08-Utrecht/ 01 Background and metadata: 5 min 02 Assessing Read and Quality: 35 min (reads downloaded during shell episode, FASTQ/Phred score discussed during shell episode) 03 Trimming and Filtering: 60 04 Variant calling workflow: 60 05 Automating a Variant Calling Workflow: 50
Thanks @aschuerch ! I think that the difference in episode two can be explained by the relevant discussion being held during the shell episode. Beyond that, it seems that both you and @taylorreiter had similar timings (so we could include them as estimates in the lessons).
